Micro-X Ltd is applying CNT x-ray technology to backscatter imaging to enable a lightweight, robot mounted stand-off imager for remote x-ray evaluation of potential IEDs.
the MOBILE BACKSCATTER IMAGER (MBI) device
Micro-X is developing, under contract to the Australian Department of Defence, a small, lightweight, Mobile Backscatter Imager system for stand-off imaging of Improvised Explosive Devices.
Using multiple x-ray beams generated by CNT emitters, the product will be small enough to be mounted on a robot vehicle and remotely acquire and transmit images to enable bomb disposal technicians to safely conduct assessment and exploitation.
Target markets are Defence Forces’ Explosives Ordnance Disposal units, national security and counter-terrorist agencies and police bomb squads.
