Peter has over 15 years experience working with imaging instrumentation and electronics. His PhD and post-doctoral research focused on the synthesis and characterization of surfaces and interfaces using x-ray and neutron scattering techniques and was conducted with collaborators and facilities in the US, UK, France, Australia. He has over 15 peer-reviewed publications in developing techniques to produce near atomic-scale resolution interpretations spanning fields from solid-state physics to structural biology.
Most recently he was the Product Development Engineer and R&D Engineering Manager at Lexmark International leading a multi-disciplinary team of scientists, engineers and technicians through multiple new product launches. He has experience in A3, Lean Six-Sigma and Change Management and is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and Lean Manufacturing (CLM).

Brian has over 11 years of experience designing tomographic imaging systems based on carbon nanotube (CNT) x-ray tube technology. His work has included: the development of unique iterative reconstruction algorithms for fixed gantry CT and Tomosynthesis systems, algorithm acceleration to deliver real-time iterative reconstruction, design of application driven imaging geometries for fixed gantry imaging systems, design of CNT x-ray tubes’ electron beam optics, and process development for the seasoning of the CNT based x-ray tubes.
Brian has helped to lead the transition of XinRay’s first CNT tube product from development to production. He has recently joined Micro-X to help develop Micro-X’s new x-ray imaging systems for both medical and security applications.
