Micro-X is pushing the boundaries of science and technology across every industry.

Beyond Boundaries

At Micro-X, we are challenging every existing barrier of traditional X-ray imaging, pioneering innovative X-ray solutions that create new opportunities for industries across the globe.

Our commitment, embodied in our “Beyond Boundaries” promise, is to create new solutions for industries, transcending limitations of size, weight, power and dose.

Micro-X has achieved the extraordinary, moving beyond the century-old boundaries of traditional thermionic X-ray technology. Our breakthrough with instantaneous X-ray driven by electronically controlled carbon nanotube emitters moves X-ray beyond heated filaments encased in oil, taking X-ray into the future. With this innovation, we are not just advancing technology, we are redefining what is possible.

Nothing is more powerful than a great idea

Micro-X is an ASX-listed hi-tech company developing and commercialising a range of innovative products for global markets.

In 2011, a group of engineers and scientists found a way to create a simple, scalable and repeatable X-ray tube that uses carbon nanotube technology. This Nano Electronic X-ray (NEX) Technology forms the core of a common platform for all our products, delivering quality digital imaging through proprietary high-voltage X-ray tubes and high-voltage generators.

With a vertically integrated design and production facility in Adelaide, Australia and a strong technical and commercial team based in Seattle, USA, we are focused on delivering exceptional innovative products that change lives for the better.

Tonsley Innovation District

In our hub in Tonsley, South Australia, we manufacture X-ray tubes, high voltage generators and high voltage switches for use in our products in the health and security industries. Through our customer-led, proven and collaborative processes, we can deliver scalable and innovative technology. It’s this technology that allows us to create new products designed to better lives, globally.

US Centre of Excellence

In 2021, we opened our US base in Seattle, Washington, driving our global expansion into key markets. Our Seattle facility is a strategic initiative to serve business opportunities in North America, including a continued focus on delivering solutions for the US Government.
