Micro-X has reached a major commercial milestone, signing its first U.S. supply agreement with one of the largest and most respected healthcare providers in the country. This agreement means Micro-X’s Rover Plus mobile X-ray system is now approved for direct procurement across a network of more than 700 hospitals, surgical centres and outpatient facilities, without the need for further evaluations or tenders.

The deal follows a highly competitive tender process and in-hospital clinical evaluation across four U.S. sites in 2024. This agreement signals growing confidence in Micro-X technology and validates Rover Plus as a robust, mobile radiology solution that meets the highest standards in acute care.

"This agreement opens the door for significant U.S. market access," said Micro-X CEO Kingsley Hall. "It represents the culmination of almost a year of work to demonstrate the Rover Plus value proposition and build trusted relationships. This is a key step in our commercial strategy to position Micro-X as a serious medical imaging vendor - starting with radiography and growing into the future of CT."

Micro-X CEO Kingsley Hall said the supply agreement came after nearly a year of work with the healthcare group.

“We are extremely pleased to have secured this initial supply agreement with one of the largest and most respected healthcare groups in the United States, who treat over 8.5 million patients annually," Mr Hall said.

"Most significant is that this is Micro-X’s first supply agreement with a major US healthcare provider and opens the doors for member hospitals to buy the Rover Plus without the need to run an evaluation or tender for new equipment. The global healthcare market is generally conservative, typically relying on well established brands and hesitant to procure critical medical equipment from new vendors.

"Micro-X worked for nearly a year to demonstrate the value of Rover and to build trust with the Customer, culminating in this supply agreement. We see this as a key step in the execution of our commercial objective of establishing Micro-X as a medical imaging vendor, starting with the Rover Plus and growing into a future of CT."

With the Customer now listing the Rover Plus on its approved procurement list, Micro-X will support member hospitals with new and replacement fleet needs for mobile radiology. It also marks an inflection point in Micro-X’s US commercial growth.

Chief Sales Officer Scott Bryant said the outcome highlighted the versatility of the Rover Plus.

"The Rover Plus is a highly versatile and reliable unit which can provide mobile radiology solutions in a range of hospital and healthcare settings. The sales and technical teams have worked tirelessly to drive this outcome, and now that Rover Plus is an approved procurement item, moving forward we will be supporting the Customer to address their needs for new and replacement mobile radiology systems, with our Micro-X Rover Plus. We look forward to our first orders."

At around 112kg (247lbs) the Rover Plus delivers outstanding maneuverability without the need for a heavy, complex and unreliable motor. When on the move, the small footprint and collapsible arm allows a clear line of sight, with intuitive featherlight drive making it simple to navigate tight hospital spaces.

The Rover Plus is designed to be mobile, excelling in challenging environments including humanitarian field hospitals. Optional ruggedised extras include a rounded plate for higher clearance.
