Our Facilities: Australia

Micro-X’s State-of-the-Art manufacturing facility is located to the south of Adelaide’s CBD in the Award Winning, South Australian Tonsley Innovation District. After opening in 2015, the site now spans more than 2,000m² and houses the design, production and testing of Micro-X’s suite of mobile and portable X-ray products and technology.

At Micro-X, we’ve applied world leading principles from the automotive industry to our medical device manufacturing, including lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and built-in quality. These strategies are rolled out by our highly-skilled production operators across multiple sectors of the company to ensure we maintain flexibility and quality at every stage. The production system is designed to simultaneously build multiple X-ray products with short lead times and respond to market fluctuations in real-time.

Combined with our ISO 13485 quality management system, the Micro-X facilities offer a low-cost and high-yield production opportunity for digital x-ray machinery. This line also offers room to expand for the inclusion of multiple Electriconic X-Ray Tube designs and higher production volumes in the future.

We are proud of our existing Australian-based manufacturing operations, and we are striving to have 95% of our entire supply chain based in Australia. We believe this commitment will reduce supply chain risk, maintain quality and ensure the continual development of optimal manufacturing processes of our radiography technology.
